Cheddar Baked Pork Chops are a delicious and very simple main dish. Baked pork chops have so much flavor and of course they are incredibly tender! They are perfect served alongside cheesy Instant Pot Mashed Potatoes or beer Potatoes Au Gratin.

Baked Pork Chops

These baked pork chops are the best oven baked pork chops ever. Why? Because of two special ingredients: mayonnaise and cheese. Mayo and cheese produce delicious natural pan juices that blend into the pork chops while baking, making them super juicy. You only need a few minutes of prep time to have tender baked pork chops.

I love this meal because it is SO SIMPLE. Aside from the pork chops, all you need is a handful of everyday, pantry staples.

Most people prefer easy recipes that you can just pop into the oven and be done with it. Well, look no further! These pork chops are so easy to make in one pan, which makes them the perfect weeknight or weekend recipe! Let the oven do the work for you!

How to Bake Pork Chops

For the juiciest oven baked pork chops, we will be using mayonnaise, shredded cheddar cheese and regular thin pork chops. The top of the pork chops crisps up nicely, and the mayonnaise imparts more flavor while keeping the meat moist. An oven temperature of 350 F. helps crisp the cheese on top of the pork chop (my favorite part).

For easy baked pork chops, follow these simple steps:

Place the pork chops in the oven proof skillet and add add a generous amount of seasonings.
Slice onion thinly as shown below add add on top of the pork chops.

Add mayonnaise on top of each pork chop. I used a total of ⅓ cup, but you can easily use as much as ½ cup.

We want to spread the mayonnaise evenly over the surface of our pork chops.

Now it's time to add shredded cheddar cheese. Extra sharp cheddar!
Bake at 350 for 35 minutes until the cheese is melted on top.

Can I freeze baked pork chops?

Oven baked pork chops can stay frozen for up to four months. Just thaw and then wrap in foil for reheating in the oven.

After you reheated these baked pork chops you can serve them with a Olive Garden Copycat Salad and some veggies roasted in the oven at the same time as the pork chops. It makes for a quick and easy dinner.

I made these last night and they were really good. I did however end up with a lot of liquid so it almost felt like the chops were boiled. Next time I think I’d prefer to cook them on a broiler pan or something of that nature. Also I used the Slap Yo Mama seasoning instead of Italian seasoning to spice it up a bit. But this came together really quick and was done pretty fast and my family enjoyed it. Thank for the recipe.

I don't have any cast iron at the moment. Do I need to change anything in the recipe to make it in on a baking sheet or in a regular baking pan?

It should be fine, the color of the pork chop (and flavor) will differ though.
